Meet Grace
As a certified pediatric sleep specialist, I consult with a global team of experts, including pediatricians, lactation consultants, physical therapists, and nutritionists, sharing the latest research in sleep, nutrition, and development.
Currently based in Taiwan, fluent in both Chinese and English, I’ve helped numerous families in Taiwan, US, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Indonesia reclaim their sleep. Let’s solve your little one’s sleep together!
My story
After graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in Finance, I lead a thriving career as a retail analyst. Blessed with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, I was never met with a challenge that I could not overcome, until I became a mother. My son Hudson was a horrible sleeper. When he was 6-month-old, I was up 8 times a night rocking him back to sleep, on top of 2 pumping sessions and a night-feed. Before long, the stress and fatigue brought me to the verge of a breakdown.
That’s when I began researching different approaches to infant sleep. After consulting several specialists in the States, I learned how to gently guide my little one to healthy sleep habits, and he slept through the night in just two weeks.
After my personal experience, I realized how important infant sleep is for the whole family, and hence I was resolved to bring this pediatric sleep science to Taiwan, hoping to help more exhausted families. After earning my certification as a pediatric sleep specialist and joining the IACSC and APSC, I founded Hanran to deliver the benefits of sleep science to children and families across Taiwan.
理念
入睡需要學習
成人半夜其實會醒來2到5次,但翻個身立刻又入睡,隔天也不記得有醒過。嬰兒半夜也會醒來,但還沒學會入睡,只能倚賴父母哄才睡得回去。寶寶要學會自主入睡,這樣半夜醒來也能立刻睡回去,不間段睡完一整覺,提升睡眠品質。
溫和而堅定
練習自主入睡的方法其實有很多種,專家已研究出許多溫和的新方法,鼓勵媽媽待在房間裡陪伴,用聲音和手安撫孩子,正向回應孩子的情緒,增進親子依附關係。
睡眠是大腦的養份
父母想要孩子長高長大,在營養上下足了功夫,將孩子餵飽飽。同樣的觀念也應該用在睡眠上,睡眠是大腦發育不可或缺的養分,並會影響孩子的學習能力和人格,應當給孩子安排充足的睡眠。
睡眠習慣靠後天培養
很多孩子挑食且吃兩口就想下桌,這時候父母都會耐心的引導進食,確保孩子吃得均衡吃得夠。睡眠同理,孩子都貪玩,不可能自動自發組織規律健康的睡眠,這得靠父母後天培養。
